This road series guitar from Martin is designed to be played live. The DRS-1 guitar isn't so valuable that you have to hire a security guard to keep an eye on it at gigs, but the mid-range Martin price point suggests that you are getting a lot of acoustic guitar for your hard earned cash. The DRS-1 is a workhorse guitar for those that love the characterful, woody tones that Martin is so good at.
Originally introduced in 2001, Martin's Road Series was part of a serious attempt to make the kudos of owning a Martin more attainable. Costs were lowered due, in part, to production being moved to Martin's Mexican facility, the use of HPL for the back and sides as well as an ultra-simple spec. Dont let the price fool you though this guitar has everything you'd expect from a Martin. Great tone, solid construction, a great finish and a comfortable action make this guitar a real classic that you have to try.
